Desert Annuals

Annuals are plants that live out their whole life during only one season. The length of this life depends on various factors, but it could be weeks or even months.

Many types of wildflowers are considered annuals in the desert.

The great part about annuals is their fast growth. Annuals have the ability to fill in areas in a very small amount of time, providing color, texture and even a scent to your desert landscape. Don't be afraid to experiment with annuals, you'll soon find you can't live without them!

In the desert, annuals that do very well include the African daisy, chrysantemum, canyon lupine, cosmos and poppies.
