Plant description: The chocolate flower is used for dried flower arrangements. It can be found along the roadsides in central New Mexico and grows alongside the Apache plume. This is a very drought tolerant wildflower. It attracts hummingbirds. Deadhead to increase bloom period.

Bloom period: June through October the 1" daisy flowers appear. They are yellow with dark maroon centers and have a hint of a chocolate scent.
Planting and growing information: The Berlandiera lyrata is easily planted from seed without any special needs. It self-sows in your yard and can be easily transplanted to desired locations. Remove spent stalks at anytime. No fertilizing is necessary.
