Climber Rose - Rosa species

Size (HXW): 6Ft to 15Ft X 6Ft to 20Ft

USDA Hardiness zones: All

Sun requirement: Full sun to part shade

Water requirement: Water well 2 to 3 times a week in the summer, every 10 days to 2 weeks in the winter. Less in the higher elevations.

Plant description: There is nothing more eye-catching than a grouping of gorgeous climbing roses on a trellis or archway. It adds a graceful edge to an otherwise harsh garden environment. Climbing roses come in many sizes and colors, each with a unique fragrance that will take you back to a peaceful time. The 'America' variety has a spicy scent, the 'Fourth of July' is red and white striped, etc.

Similar suggested plants: Mandevilla, Floribunda Rose

Bloom period: Spring and Summer

Planting and growing information: Plant bare root roses in the winter or container grown roses from January to March. In higher elevations plant roses in early spring. Dig a hole three times wider than the root but just as deep as the root. Mulch around the roots but do not let the mulch touch the bark. When pruning, allow the framing canes to be unpruned until they are your desired size, then just prune the secondary ones for shape.
