Rosa arkansana - Arkansas Rose

Characteristics: The Arkansas Rose is a small shrub with stems that reach up to 2 feet. It's multi-stemmed with thin thorns. The thin stems die off every year but are quickly replaced next season. Elliptical leaves are bright green. The delicate flowers are small, only about 1" across. A hardier version of this shrub is the Rosa acicularis nipponensis which has larger but similar flowers.
