Pink Fairy Duster - Calliandra eriophylla

Other common names:

Size (HXW): 6 Ft X 6 Ft

USDA Hardiness zones: 7b - 11

Sun requirement: Full sun

Water requirement: Very little water once established. Water will keep blooms longer.

Plant description: This is a hearty shrub that grows everywhere in desert landscapes. It tolerates full sun and very little water. The blooms attract bees and hummingbirds. Prune as needed to create a fuller bush-like appearance and prevent the shrub from getting too leggy.

Similar suggested plants: Red fairy duster, bottlebrush

Bloom period: Spring to fall, pink flowers

Planting and growing information: Grows very easily from seed, cuttings work from time to time as well. Plant about 1 inch deep in warmer weather, water gently. Seedlings should pop up in a few days. Do not overwater or mold will erode the seed.
