Plant description: Guajillo is native to southern Texas and Mexico. Growth is moderate and adult specimen are vase-shaped. It is a semi-evergreen desert tree with soft, fine leaves. The puffballs produce litter in the springtime but not as much as other forms of acacia. This is a lush-looking shrub that works well for screening. Can be trained into a small tree. Parts of the Acacia berlandieri can be toxic to animals.
